Sight words are the little words kids see again and again, like a, and, the, I, to and see. Kindergarten classes usually teach a handful at a time, and tracing helps the shape of each word stick.
Each sheet shows a solid word to copy and dashed copies to trace. The three guide lines teach where tall letters, small letters and tails sit. Pick print or pre-cursive letters to match what your kid's school uses.
Start with First sight words. Say each word aloud before tracing it, then say it again when done. Tracing without reading teaches the hand but not the word. Once those feel easy, More sight words like look, up, for, said and was come next. Number words, one to ten, also fit here and pair well with counting practice.
Five words a day is plenty. These sheets have no answer key, because tracing needs no checking. Instead, praise careful letters and let your kid choose which word to do next.
