Grade 4 math is about choosing the right tool. Your child knows the facts and now has to apply them, often on a page where the signs change from line to line. Mixed sheets build that flexibility.
Use Multiplication and division when times tables to 12 still need work. Each division is exact, so a quotient is always a whole number. Move to All four operations when those feel solid. Here addition, subtraction, multiplication and division share the page, and the harder levels use larger numbers.
The trap is sign blindness. After a few times problems, a child multiplies a plus problem. Ask your child to underline the sign before starting. Another trap is a subtraction written in a hurry, where the smaller number ends up on top. These sheets never ask for a negative answer, so a result below zero means a slip.
Try a timed round only after accuracy is good, and keep it friendly. Check the answers together, and let your child explain one correct problem and one corrected one. If one operation lags behind, spend a few days on its own sheets, then come back to the mix.
