Division can look scary, but in Grade 3 it starts as something kids already do. Sharing 12 cookies between 3 friends is division. So is putting 12 cookies into bags of 3. These are the two meanings, sharing and grouping, and it helps to name both out loud.
The easiest route in is the times table your kid already knows. If 4 × 6 = 24, then 24 ÷ 4 = 6. Before a sheet, ask your kid to say the matching multiplication fact. After a few weeks, they stop needing the step.
Start with the basic facts sheet at the easy level, which uses divisors 2 to 5. Every answer comes out exact, so there are no remainders to worry about. Move to medium, which uses divisors up to 10, once the first sheet feels smooth.
When one table is still shaky, use the single-table sheet and choose it in the generator. Dividing by 7 only, for example, gives repeated practice on a single set of facts. Easy runs in order, and medium shuffles the problems.
